John has bred owls for over 20 years now in the heart of the Northamptonshire country side. He is a local lad, hailing from Bozeat. John has been a Country Park Ranger for many years, serving at Sywell, Irchester and Brixworth Country Parks. Many people will  know him from local shows and village fetes. Many will also have attended talks given by John to schools and local groups ranging from Badger groups through to the Women's Guild!

Over the years John has managed some 27 species of owls - 14 of them successfully breeding - including the White Faced Scops Owl ( JoJo in the picture with John ), the Indian Scops Owl, the Striated Scops Owl and the Rufous Legged Owl.

John was invited to sit on the committee of the Northamptonshire Raptor Club because of his extensive experience with owls. We hope to encourage owl keepers to join, and we want them to feel included and catered for.
